elementor - v3.21.0 - 08-05-2024 *\/\n.elementor-widget-image{text-align:center}.elementor-widget-image a{display:inline-block}.elementor-widget-image a img[src$=\".svg\"]{width:48px}.elementor-widget-image img{vertical-align:middle;display:inline-block}<\/style>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f-geo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/NZEB.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-20785\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.f-geo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/NZEB.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.f-geo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/NZEB-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-78fdbb6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"78fdbb6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?qid=1583922805643&amp;uri=CELEX:02010L0031-20181224\">Energy Performance of Buildings Directive<\/a><\/span>\u00a0requires that EU countries\u00a0had to ensure that all new buildings were nearly zero-energy by the end of 2020 while all new public buildings had to be nearly zero-energy after 31 December 2018.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p><h2 id=\"zero-emission-buildings\" class=\"\">Zero-emission buildings<\/h2><p>The Commission\u2019s\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_21_6683\">proposal to revise the directive<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(December 2021) makes a step forward from current NZEB to zero-emission building (ZEB), aligning the energy performance requirement for new buildings to the longer-term climate neutrality goal and \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/energy-efficiency\/energy-efficiency-targets-directive-and-rules\/energy-efficiency-first-principle_en\">energy efficiency first principle<\/a><\/span>\u201d.<\/p><p>According to the directive\u2019s proposal, a zero emission building is defined as a building with a very high energy performance, with the very low amount of energy still required fully covered by energy from renewable sources and without on-site carbon emissions from fossil fuels.<\/p><p>The ZEB requirement should apply as of 1 January 2030 to all new buildings, and as of 1 January 2027 to all new buildings occupied or owned by public authorities.<\/p><p>While the focus of the proposal is the reduction of operational greenhouse gas emissions, ZEB definition further include the calculation life-cycle Global Warming Potential (GWP) and its disclosure through the energy performance certificate of the building. This requirement should apply as of 1 January 2027 for all new buildings with a useful floor area larger than 2000 square meters and as of 1 January 2030 for all new buildings.<\/p><h2 id=\"implementation-monitoring-and-reporting\" class=\"ecl-inpage-navigation__heading--active\">Implementation, monitoring and reporting<\/h2><p>EU countries share their\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/eu-countries-nearly-zero-energy-buildings-national-plans-0_en\">nearly zero-energy buildings national plans<\/a><\/span>\u00a0with the Commission and describe how they intend to increase the number of nearly zero-energy buildings in their respective country.<\/p><p>The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive requires EU countries to develop long-term renovation strategies aiming to facilitate the cost-effective transformation of existing buildings into nearly zero- energy buildings. The proposal to revise the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive aims to reinforce the long-term renovation strategies into national building renovation plans having the objective to transform the building stock into zero emission buildings by 2050.<\/p><p>The Commission monitors the progress made by EU countries to increase the number of nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEBs).<\/p><ul><li>In 2016, the Commission developed\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32016H1318&amp;from=EN\">guidelines<\/a><\/span>\u00a0for the promotion of NZEBs in order to ensure that by 2020, all new buildings are NZEBs.<\/li><li>In 2016, the Commission&#8217;s Joint Research Centre also prepared a\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/publications.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/repository\/bitstream\/JRC97408\/reqno_jrc97408_online%20nzeb%20report(1).pdf\">synthesis report on the national plans for nearly NZEBs<\/a><\/span>.<\/li><li>NZEBs were one of the topics addressed in the Concerted Action EPBD forum and provided an overview of\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"ecl-link--icon ecl-link--icon-after\" href=\"https:\/\/epbd-ca.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/CT1-Factsheet-National_applications_of_NZEB_definition.pdf\">national applications of the NZEB definitions<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(2018).<\/li><li>In 2019, a\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/comprehensive-study-building-energy-renovation-activities-and-uptake-nearly-zero-energy-buildings-eu-0_en\">comprehensive study<\/a><\/span>\u00a0of building energy renovation activities and the uptake of NZEBs in the EU was prepared for the Commission.<\/li><li>Integrated reporting on NZEB is requested within the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/energy-climate-change-environment\/implementation-eu-countries\/energy-and-climate-governance-and-reporting\/national-energy-and-climate-plans_en\">National Energy and Climate Plans<\/a><\/span>\u00a0reporting obligations.<\/li><\/ul><h2 id=\"documents\" class=\"\">Documents<\/h2><ul><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?qid=1583922805643&amp;uri=CELEX:02010L0031-20181224\">Consolidated version of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive<\/a><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX:32016H1318\">Recommendation on guidelines for the promotion of nearly zero-energy buildings<\/a><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Source:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/energy-efficiency\/energy-efficient-buildings\/nearly-zero-energy-buildings_en\">https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/energy-efficiency\/energy-efficient-buildings\/nearly-zero-energy-buildings_en<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        \t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/section>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The EU has proposed to move from the current nearly zero-energy buildings to zero-emission buildings by 2030.
